We are excited to offer FREE guided plant walks again this year through the forested trails on the back part of our nursery property, which is usually not open to the public!
In this mature mixed Doug Fir forest we will see a wide array of native plants that thrive in the shady understory. From shrubs like Cascade Oregon Grape, Baldhip Rose, & Red Huckleberry down to ground covers like Bleeding Heart, Vanilla Leaf, Oxalis, Inside-Out Flower, and so much more— we are lucky to have so much natural diversity residing in our forest!
You can expect a guided, slow-paced walk on soft-surface trails that are relatively level grade. We will stop often to talk about the plants we see, chat about forest health & succession, and any other wildlife & nature moments we might encounter. Group questions & discussion are encouraged! This will generally be an adult-focused hike, but kids are more than welcome to join their families! And our retail nursery will be open to wander afterwards if you want to bring some of these plants back home to your garden.
